Leave A Lasting, Living Legacy

Have you ever thought about the legacy you wish to leave behind?

Do you want to contribute to guiding and developing vulnerable young people to grow up as people of value and character?

If so, would you consider including CARE Singapore in your will by making a bequest?

Bequest to CARE

A bequest is a gift of cash, stocks or other property given through a will. By remembering CARE Singapore in your will, you can continue to touch the future by redirecting and changing young lives for good.

To make a bequest to CARE, you must sign a new will or amend your existing will, if any. This is usually handled by your lawyer or trustee. Generally, there are 4 major types of bequests you can make to a person/s or organisation like CARE Singapore:

General Bequests

Usually specific sums of cash or percentages of the value of your estate. For example, you may wish to leave $500,000 or 50% of your estate to CARE Singapore.

Special Bequests

Specified gifts or property such as real estate, stocks and shares, jewellery, paintings, etc. For example, you may wish to leave 1000 shares of XYZ stock to CARE Singapore.

Residual Bequests

Whatever remains of your estate after the general and special bequests have been paid. For example, you may wish to leave 50% of the rest, residue and remainder of your estate to CARE Singapore.

Contingent Bequests

You may designate CARE Singapore as the second in line to receive all or part of your bequests should one or more of the named beneficiaries fail to survive the donor. For example, you leave 50% of your estate to your sister, and if she predeceases you, then to CARE Singapore.
